How about an exotic summer holiday in Svalbard this year?
You are staying at the world’s northernmost full-service hotel, Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen. Here you can enjoy your breakfast while looking out over the beautiful Hiorthfjellet. In Longyearbyen, there are not long distances and you will find a number of nice restaurants, from simple to gourmet, and nice nightspots. A wealth of shops offering sportswear. An attraction for Norwegians is to go and buy wine at the shop for cheap – here it is tax-free.
There is a lot to see in the city. The Svalbard museum is a must and is located close to the hotel. At the same time, it is important to take in the nature experiences, and we recommend everyone a trip with ribs on the Isfjorden, a hike with a guide in the mountains or dog sledding, which is fantastic for young and old.

Please note that due to the situation in Ukraine, all excursions to Barentsburg and the Pyramiden are canceled indefinitely.
Cruise to Russian Barentsburg is on the other side of Tempelfjellet, which towers over Longyearbyen. The easiest way to get there is by boat into Grønfjorden. The old sheds by the quay in Barentsburg bear witness to the greatness of the past, but here there is still mining and a well-preserved culture. There are hospitals, schools, churches and cultural and sports buildings. You will also find an old post office where you can get souvenirs and a local bar. Tourism is eventually one of the most important sources of income in the city. Today, 450 inhabitants live here, and it is Svalbard’s second largest settlement.
If you want to get to know more about Russian history on Svalbard, you can also join Pyramiden, which is located in Billefjorden – a good boat trip with the hybrid ship Brim, which also takes you towards the Nordenskïoldbreen. We will arrange this.
